Semantic Memory vs Episodic Memory

Semantic memory is focused on facts, ideas, and concepts. Episodic memory, on the other hand, refers to the recalling of particular and subjective life experiences.

Types of Memory

The four general types of memories are: 1. Sensory memory 2. Short-term memory 3. Working memory 4. Long-term memory

Long-term memory can be further categorized as either implicit (unconscious) or explicit (conscious).

Memory Constructivist

The theory that a memory is reconstructed on the fly.

Working Memory

The ability to hold and manipulate information in mind over short periods.

Cognitive Flexibility

The capacity to switch between thinking about different concepts or to adapt behavior in response to changing circumstances.

Inhibitory Control

The ability to suppress inappropriate or unwanted behaviors or thoughts, including self-control and attentional control.

Planning and Organization

The ability to set goals, develop strategies, and manage time and resources to achieve objectives.
